Opinions of Obama's First 100 Days

What are your opinions of President Obama first 100 days? One thing you can’t say is that they were boring or uneventful. From the fumbling of the vow taken at his Inauguration to closing Gitmo, to the Stimulus Package, to the bank bailout, to the end of water boarding…what can I say? It’s definitely been busy at the White House!

Is it too soon to tell how things are really going? Will we need more time to accurately judge? Not sure, but there have been ups and downs as with anything and everyone. I’m still impressed that he wanted the job especially at a time where the U.S. was and is in such a state of disarray.

So, what are your thoughts?

Honestly, I can't complain at the job he is doing.. Bush went into hiding his first 100 days because he was probably told by his handlers to do nothing.... Obama is questionable to me on MANY issues but as far as him making moves as a leader, nothing bad can be said about him at all...

I wanted to take this time to inform you that it wasn't just water boarding that he was ending but ALL torture methods... America was one of the first to sit at the Geneva conventions and therefore should follow the agreements to the letter...

They also found that these so called "terror suspects" would more often than not give their interrogators useless information, based on hours of torture.. I know men that would tell the police any lie, just because the police told them their homeboy turned on them....

OK, back on the Obama question... To me, he is leading this country but the fact that he and I share the same skin color has nothing to do with my opinion... I get that a lot... I'd say, "oh, the Pres. made a nice more there" and the closest (we'll not even mention race) non-African- American would say "you are only saying that because he is black"... Isn't he white as well? I mean... to me he's just a person... Good job so far Pres.

Yes, I know he ended all torture. I was listing some examples. I didn't list everything that he did for the sake of time here at work.

I agree with you on the race comment. I get that too. What can I say, this world is a crazy place...

Gotta keep it real here, mujahideen...while I know it is hard for you to give props to Bush, it is unfair to say he was in hiding his first 100 days. Bush dealt with the lingering effects of the crazy election (that some say he stole) but he had the same approval rating that Obama has now at the same point in his presidency. Bush's big "projects" were his tax cuts (which did boost the economy) and education reform. He also had the job of restoring respect to the office of president that Clinton managed to degrade. Although Bush may have exited the presidency with low approval due to the complexities of the Iraq war, he was by no means "in hiding". Come on now...keep it real!
