2008 Olympics

After watching the last 2 weeks of the Olympics and the closing ceremony last night, I can't help but be sad a little bit. I wonder if I'm the only one that felt this way... It's the togetherness you feel while watching the athletes performing their dreams that I'll miss. And even with all those countries being present and fighting to win the medals, we were all still TOGETHER fighting for something. Not fighting with our hands or weapons, but fighting with our talents - trying to show the world how great each country is in each sport...

It's a great thing to behold - the Olympics and with each one it gets better and better! My husband last night said that he has no idea how London will be able to compete with the show that CHINA put on! The fireworks, the show, the crowd, everything was just AMAZING! (Yes, I've heard of the controversy regarding the "faked fireworks". Even with that, if it's true, got to give it to them for originality! They wanted a good show for those of us sitting at home watching who couldn't make the trip to Beijing - can't be mad at them for that!

I've been "in love" with the Olympics since I was a little girl and I believe that I get just as excited now watching as I did
then! My family all sit down together to watch and we cheer the U.S. like we were there in the stands! Shouting, Yelling, CLAPPING, CRYING - no one can tell us that we were not in Beijing with the rest of the Americans

Micheal Phelps - I congratulate you and your family on a job well done this year with your 8 gold medals. We watched every race and cheered you on to victory! I'm as equally impressed with your Mom as I am with you! Can't wait to see what you have in store for the world in 2012 in London! Give 'em HELL!

Writing Just To Write

What to say what to say…Sometimes it feels good to write even when there isn't anything to say. Nothing important to say, nothing earth shattering happening… Maybe that's a good thing.. Who knows, this rarely happens. Are things turning around? Why question it, just let the leaves fall where they may and things will turn out the way they should. Maybe not the way we want them to be, but the way they should. As people love to say, "Everything happens for a reason." Does it? Have you ever thought about what that means. It's hard not to question things especially when, through your eyes, the "reason" isn't always obvious....
